Remeber back in school we used to buy those little Stamp size flags to support the Armed Forces Flag day fund?
Back then we could purchase these flags only for a few rupees and we didn’t have enough money to contribute to the cause but now we have grown up and started earning money but we have forgotten about this or we don’t know how to purchase those flags.
Now the Kendriya Sainik Board has set up a website to collect these funds online and they accept the money using Credit cards / Debit Cards / Net Banking / Paytm / UPI / Bharat QR code / NEFT & IMPS etc and you can download and print these flags for yourselves from this website: http://www.ksb.gov.in/
What are these funds for?
These funds are dedicated to the welfare of the family (War widows and Children of Martyrs) of the brave hearts who have lost their lives for the nation and also to help the ones who are War-disabled and retired from service. You can contribute any amount from ₹1 to crores of rupees and this fund is common to all the Armed forces of India.
Though the Indian Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated on December 7, the funds are accepted throughout the year and you can contribute anytime and the Contributions to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund are exempted from Income Tax vied Government of India Notification No. 78/2007 dated 26 Mar 07 and under section 80 G (5) (vi) of Income Tax Act 1961 vied Director of Income Tax (E) letter No. NQ.DIT (E) | 2010-11/DEL-AE22280-04012011/2186 dated 04 Jan 11.
I have contributed my share this year, have you?
